Call for applications for the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards

Cartier Women’s Initiative AwardInventive, passionate, determined, an entrepreneur needs to be all three.
History so far added a fourth requirement to this list: male. The Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards, however, intend to change this, and encourage more women to create their own businesses.

Launched in October 2006 by Cartier and the Women’s Forum for the Economy and Society, the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards are a unique project to promote entrepreneurial values and foster the passion for initiative.

“This distinction aims to support meaningful businesses and enable budding initiatives to grow.

We hope to see new talents emerge and inspire more women to join the great entrepreneurship adventure”, says Mr. Bernard Fornas, President and CEO of Cartier.

Each year, following a personalized coaching period provided by McKinsey & Company, the consulting firm, and INSEAD, the graduate business school, along with Cartier, fifteen women will present their business plans before a high-profile international jury.

Among these candidates, five laureates, one from each continent, will be selected to receive the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards trophy and rewarded with a US$ 20 000 grant.

In addition to financial help, winners gain access to additional coaching support for a full year.

The Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards Jury

There are five regional juries each composed of outstanding individuals from a large variety of fields, from the non-profit sector to the corporate world, all firm believers that women are instrumental in passing on entrepreneurial values to the next generation.

The quality and commitment of the jury guarantees a fair and thorough evaluation of each business plan based on creativity, sustainability and impact (environmental and social). The juries will be fully constituted in March. To date, the Cartier Women’s Initiative Awards are honoured to receive the support of:
